ChessEmpires is a modern day approach to the ancient game of chess.

A phenomenon in itself, ChessEmpires fuses together two diverging time periods into a perfect leisurely pursuit. Merging the game of chess together with the latest standards of the web, ChessEmpires provides a place for enthusiasts to enjoy the game online in a modern, intuitively designed environment.

The concept behind ChessEmpires was to create a unique, state of the art application devoted solely to the art of playing chess, and then embed it into a luxuriant design appealing to a wide audience. Under the hub of ChessEmpires is a scalable system designed to work on as many servers necessary to support all of its users without sacrificing in any way the performance of the game itself and, by extension, user experience. The game board itself is flash-based, and designed to function with multiple concurrent games through  an expose-like function - a feature rather unique in the world of web applications, but familiar to the users of Apple products.

The project is designed in such a way that it forms a social network of its own kind where beginners can come to practice, the occasional players to brush up on their game and, of course, for the hard-core fans to do what they do best. As it only fits chess itself, the game is designed to perform at the highest level, adorned by imaginative detailing to take the user experience to the next level. The system is conceptualized to simplify things and give the user full function control within a click or two, thereby emphasizing enjoyment of the actual game, rather than spending time on figuring out how things work.
